The Town of St. George, Maine installed 225 solar panels on the rooftop of their transfer station that will protect the environment and save their taxpayers money.
Each year, the system will generate roughly 83,611 kilowatt-hours (kWhs) of electricity, offsetting the equivalent of over 144,500 miles driven in a gas-powered car. The town financed the array through a Power Purchase Agreement , and the production from the array will fulfill approximately 90% of the town's energy needs.
