Fulfilling a campaign promise to lead on action, Governor Janet Mills's administration approved two solar projects to go up at the historic Blaine House property.
Through a competitive bid process, ReVision Energy earned the privilege of designing and installing the two solar projects, which consist of a dual-axis tracking array from Vermont-based AllEarth Renewables , as well as a rooftop installation on a nearby garage (no panels will be installed on the roof of the historic building). The two solar installations will meet roughly 25% of the Blaine House's annual electricity demand and will reduce carbon emissions by roughly 26,000 lbs. per year.
We're honored to see Maine's leadership change in such a significant way around clean energy... Several years ago as an April Fools' prank, we jested that solar at the Blaine House might be possible, and now, thanks to Janet Mills's administration, it is a reality!
