In November, Sunbug Solar officially became a ReVision Energy company. This acquisition is really exciting as it will enable us to bring solar and solar technologies (such as heat pumps, battery storage, and EV charging) to all of Massachusetts. Because Sunbug and ReVision are both Certified B Corps, mission-aligned, and have a long history of working together through Amicus Solar Cooperative, this felt like a natural fit for both ReVision and Sunbug employees. But like any business initiative, it comes with its own set of challenges, opportunities, and logistics to sort out.
In this blog column we’re taking you behind the scenes to showcase how two major New England solar companies join forces to more effectively fight the climate crisis.
As the new year starts, we've taken some big steps. Sunbug residential solar designers (now officially onboarded as part of the ReVision SDS team) are designing and quoting systems within ReVision's tools. The design team also officially transitioned to @revisionenergy.com email addresses.
Now that the residential team has fully switched to ReVision, Sunbug's commercial team is making the switch. ReVision's commercial business development team is helping train the Sunbug crew in our software systems and processes.
Sunbug's Master Electrician, Ken Carter, has worked closely with one of ReVision's Master Electricians, Sam Pillsbury, to move all electrical permitting over to Sam's license; all permitting is now being pulled in one location, increasing efficiency.
Sunbug will once again be featured on This Old House! Residential Solar Project Manager Christina D'Alessandro (now New Construction PM for ReVision Energy) will be on the episode, talking about solar for flat roofs and helping the crew design the solar system. Tune in Thursday, January 25th, at 8pm on PBS.
Thanks to everyone who came out to our Welcome Sunbug event at Hopothecary in December. In addition to welcoming Sunbug customers, employees, and community members, we also finished up ReVision's 20th Anniversary Celebrations.
Join ReVision and Sunbug for our first solar-powered happy hour in Western Mass. We're celebrating existing Solar Champions and welcoming solar-curious folks to come ask us questions.
