Born and raised in the town of Norway, Owen spent his first 18 years in Western Maine, apart from a year abroad in Switzerland. After graduating with two degrees in music from Keene State College in New Hampshire, he lived in Portland for several years while teaching and performing, before moving to St. Paul, Minnesota with his wife Jenna.
In 2020, when the pandemic shut down much of normal life, including his job, Owen took the opportunity to spend part of the following winter in camps in northern Minnesota, supporting native-led resistance to tar sands oil projects. This reignited a desire to work directly on solutions to the climate crisis.
Upon returning to Maine, Owen joined ReVision Energy to continue that work at home. He’s lucky enough to live on Peaks Island, where you can usually find him in the middle of yet another do-it-yourself house project. As a Solar Design Specialist, Owen likes nothing more than solving the puzzle of how best to help his fellow Mainers save money while becoming more energy independent.
